High school backpacks

A 25 to 30-liter backpack with a padded laptop compartment and a ventilated back is suitable for most high school students. Choose a simple, sturdy model that the student can keep until they finish their studies.

Most student backpacks accommodate a 13 to 15.6-inch laptop. Check the stated size for the compartment and compare it to the laptop's dimensions, rather than just the screen size.

The backpack distributes weight better over long days and commutes on foot or by bike. The satchel, which is more stylish, is suitable when carrying fewer things. Many students start with a backpack, then add a satchel for internships.

A water-repellent fabric protects the computer and notebooks during a rain shower. For bike commutes, a rain cover or a bag with a waterproof coating provides extra protection. It is best if the laptop compartment is elevated from the bottom.

Carry the bag on both shoulders, adjusted quite high, and place heavy items against your back. Regularly empty it of unnecessary items. An empty bag that is lightweight, with wide, padded straps, limits pain at the end of the day.
