Underseat luggage

Choose an underseater whose exterior dimensions, including wheels, comply with those of your airline: 40 x 30 x 20 cm for Ryanair or Wizz Air, 45 x 36 x 20 cm for easyJet. A soft or expandable model will slide more easily under the seat.

"Underseater" literally means under the seat. This term refers to a small rolling suitcase or bag designed to fit under the seat in front of you on a plane. It complements a checked suitcase or replaces paid carry-on luggage for a short trip.

For two or three days, an underseater accommodates a few rolled outfits, a toiletry bag with 100 ml bottles, a charger, and an e-reader. Wear your bulkiest items, such as your jacket and shoes, on you.

Yes, as long as it meets the allowed dimensions, including wheels and handle. The wheels and telescopic handle take up a few centimeters and some weight. For very strict size requirements, a soft bag without wheels offers more usable volume.

Some models have a trolley strap on the back, which slides over the telescopic handle of a suitcase. This allows you to carry both pieces of luggage with one hand through the airport. Check the product page for this strap before purchasing.
