Middle school backpacks

Choose a 20 to 30-liter backpack with a padded back and wide shoulder straps. It should be able to hold A4 binders without bending them. A simple, sturdy model, such as the Eastpak Padded Pak'r, will often last a student for several years.

Eastpak is renowned for the durability of its bags and offers a long warranty on its models. The Padded Pak'r, compact and available in numerous colors, has become a classic for middle schoolers. It can be worn daily or for outings.

A volume of 20 to 30 liters is suitable for most middle school students. Anything smaller makes it difficult to fit A4 binders; anything larger makes the bag heavy and cumbersome. Check the interior dimensions on the product sheet.

Pack your bag every evening with the next day's schedule and leave anything you don't need at your locker or at home. Choose thin notebooks over large binders whenever possible. An empty bag that is already lightweight also makes a difference.

It's not essential in 6th grade, but useful if the school provides a tablet or a laptop. A padded compartment protects it from bumps. The Eastpak Out of Office comes equipped with one while remaining an everyday bag.
